Measure the chest, not the dog – Sizes go by chest girth: S 43–56 cm (17–22"), M 56–69 cm (22–27"), L 69–81 cm (27–32"), XL 81–107 cm (32–42"). Between two sizes? Take the bigger one.
Weight is only a rough guide – The maker lists 8–15 lbs for S, 15–40 for M, 40–66 for L and 66–110 for XL, but two dogs at the same weight can be shaped completely differently. Go by the tape.
Handle on the back – Padded, sewn to the spine strap, and useful for the moments you need to steady your dog fast — a road crossing, a vet step, a slippery boot.
Padded mesh, not webbing – The chest and belly panels are lined, so the load spreads across a broad area instead of biting in along a strap.
Reflective strips on both sides – Headlights pick them up from either direction, not just when your dog is side-on.
Seven colors – Black, red, pink, orange, purple, green and blue.
